Despite globalization Restock PS5 shortage, toy superstore Smyths is letting UK customers pre-order Sony’s next-gen console if they do so in-store.
The retailer shared the following: Tweet(opens new tab)It is important that we clarify that both the Digital Edition, standard edition, and the Edition, digital edition of the magazine are the same thing. PS5Customers can pre-order the items by paying a deposit.
To clarify, this doesn’t mean you can pre-order a PS5 online and pick up the console in-store, rather that you can now go into your local Smyths outlet, pay a deposit, and wait to be informed when to collect your new PS5.

As for when Smyths will receive new PS5s – and therefore when those that do pre-order the console in-store can expect to collect one – the jury is out. The UK’s PS5 stock is still scarce, with stock drops occurring every few weeks.
The toy retailer saw a significant rise in sales, despite a short PS5 stock restock on Aug 3rd. Both the standard and digital edition PS5 consoles, as well as Ratchet & Clank: Rip Apart, were available.
