Rumours suggest that the LEGO Group was planning to release a new LEGO Group product. TechnicSupercar in summer 2022 It was postponed to next year.

However, the same site now claims that 42143 won’t release in August – or indeed, in 2022 at all. The set has apparently been delayed until 2023, which StoneWars speculates is likely due to a delay to the real-life car that it’s based on. There’s no suggestion of what that might be, but its part count eclipses all three previous supercars, including 42083 Bugatti Chiron and 42115 Lamborghini Sían FKP 37.
This news could also explain LEGO Group’s last-minute decision to not retire the 42083 Bugatti Chiron from shelves in 2021. In the event that 42143 is delayed, it makes sense to have a supercar.
This story has not been confirmed so please be cautious. But if it’s true, it’ll be interesting to see whether the LEGO Group accelerates production on a replacement model in the line-up, or just leaves TechnicFans without a big flagship set for 2022.
