Lego Ferrari vs Lego Porsche: Design & complexity

These are the best! Technic is the amount of modelsFunctions included. Both models have suspension, working steering and doors opening. The visible engines move when the wheels turn. For those who love mechanics, the Porsche also has a working differential.

These models are different from the Lambo or Bugatti more expensive models, primarily because they do not have a gearbox. These models have fully-functional, multispeed gearboxes. They are also more difficult. They are a large collection of small parts and take up much space.

The Porsche and Ferrari sets do not have a gearbox but retain all functions I have already described. They’re also a little smaller, with both reaching 19 inches long and five inches high when built – the more expensive sets are more like 24 inches long.

These make them less expensive and easier to construct. The Porsche is recommended for people over 10 years old. Lego specifically mentions the Porsche as a great buy. Children with an interest in engineering. The Ferrari is officially rated for age 18+, which is more like the super-complicated models… but we suspect that’s being rather ungenerous to the building skill of most teens.

The Porsche is 1,580 x 1,677 so it doesn’t really make a big difference.

Both produce stunning results with cockpits that are filled with detailed equipment and details. The cockpits of both are equally impressive, although I prefer Porsche.

Lego Ferrari vs Lego Porsche: Verdict

I think that of these two models, I find the Porsche slightly more appealing overall – it’s got a slightly lower price, and has a cool differential to build on top of the steering, suspension, engine and so on.

Red Ferraris are Ferraris and should not be discounted. Both will make you happy, and both models are equally complex. TechnicBuilds that are both affordable and fun to assemble.
