LEGO has some amazing releases this summer. There is something for everyone in the galaxy.
I can confidently say that summer is the most exciting season to watch Star Wars sets. Winter sees the smaller post-holiday releases, while Force Friday in the fall coincides with LucasFilm’s latest project.
LEGO can continue its unique path without needing to release any blockbuster product this year. This list appears to have been confirmed for 2021. The latest set of leaks seems to indicate this.
The advent calendar’s favorite holiday tradition is to start with the list. There really isn’t much to say here, but last year’s calendar was a step forward with new builds and exclusive Christmas figures. With that out of the way, let’s dive into the interesting information.
LEGO will capitalize upon The Mandalorian/The Clone Wars.
The first two sets are the Mandalore Throne and Vault. LEGO has been publishing these battle vignettes since several years. trendIn the Clone Wars. This desk display costs $20, and includes Ahsoka along with Darth Maul.
The first appearances of Gar Saxon, Bo-Katan, and a new Mandalorian Fighter model will be made. And let’s not forget about the Bad Batch, whose shuttle will be released along with a full crew of figures to provide a fresh spin on a familiar silhouette.
Made popular by The Mandalorian, next is the Imperial Troop Transport. The set includes two mortar troopers and two stormtroopers. Fans should be happy with this set. Alongside that will be Moff Gideon’s cruiser for a steep $160. The scene features strong figures and mini TIE Fighters. It might be worth it. And it’s about time Moff Gideon comes to LEGO form.
There will be original and new sets of the original trilogy.
The second version of Slave One may be the most interesting. Rather than being fittingly from The Mandalorian, this version centers around The Empire Strikes Back, evident in the inclusion of Han Solo. Fennec Shand will still be part of the set, but it would have made Boba Fett’s appearance more authentic. Paired with that will be a new model, Darth Vader’s meditation chamber.
LEGO will continue its activities through May 4th. TrendYou can make your own R2-D2 characters. It’s been done before, but designers have the ability to re-imagine a model that clearly needs it.
What other UCS sets will LEGO create?
After winning the fan vote, LEGO’s rendition of the Republic Gunship will release for $350. This model will be the first UCS model from the Clone Wars era, and must be reasonably large.
Then there’s the lingering “question mark”There are over 6,000 pieces. It is believed to be a Death Star. It could contain tens or thousands of parts. An AT-AT is another possibility. This would be quite unusual considering that the model was only released last year.
Either way, LEGO has some big plans in 2021, and that’s not even mentioning a new game as well. Which set do YOU feel is missing? Or what are you most excited for? Comment below!
